The European Commission, DG IA, has published a number of programme and contract information brochures for relating to PHARE support to Slovakia, Albania, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia. The PHARE programme provides assistance to Central and Eastern European countries, through financial aid and technical know-how. The brochures, which outline the PHARE programmes agreed with each of the partner countries at Management Committee meetings during 1995 and early 1996, contain details of the contracts to be awarded for implementing these programmes. The contracts cover a wide variety of areas, including: - Public administration reform; - Social assistance; - Agriculture and land registration; - Privatization; - Regional development; - Steel reconversion; - Tourism development; - Transport and communications; - Transit facilitation; - Water management; - Energy; - Environment. The brochures include contact details where companies interested in bidding for contracts may obtain further information. The contracts are open to companies and individuals registered and resident in the European Union or the PHARE countries.
