RTD activities supported by this programme will in general be addressed through shared-cost actions. Special provisions for the participation of entities from European Third Countries have been made, with the possibility of Community funding for participants from Central and Eastern European countries and European countries from the former Soviet Union.

Detailed information concerning the work programme for this call may be found in the Information Package. Only the most recent version, dated 17 December 1996, applies, and this should be used in the preparation of proposals.

Outline proposals may be submitted to the Commission services for pre-screening and consultation, if desired by the proposers.
