The European Commission, DG XVI, has published a pre-information notice concerning a call for tenders, due to be published in March 1997, for the provision of information services relating to European Community regional policy and cohesion. The services to be covered by this call will include: - Advice for the continuation and innovation of the information strategy as regards regional policy and cohesion. This service will, among others, serve to target the activities and information products better and improve the management of the budgetary resources envisaged to this end; - Design, development and diffusion of information products as regards European Community regional policy and cohesion; - Maintenance and updating of a mailing list of +/- 30,000 addresses for circulation and consultation purposes; - Design and setting-up of a system concerning the monitoring and evaluation of the impact of the information activity to be taken up. The services in question will be provided under the responsibility and supervision of statutory officials of the European Commission's DG XVI and in liaison with the Office for Official Publications of the European Communities, the Translation Service, the Computer Centre and any other service likely to be associated with the development of the products in question. The value of the contract to be awarded will depend on the credit granted by the European Community's budgetary authority. For the contractual year 2000/2001 (financial year 2000), the financing of the activities in question will entirely depend on the Community's new financial perspectives. Over a projected four-year period, the overall contract value should be approximately ECU 7 million. The Commission would wish to conclude a one-year contract, renewable three times.
