Assistance with set-up of prize-giving for 1997 European Information Technology Prize

The European Commission, DG III, has published an invitation to tender concerning services for the set-up and staging of the prize-giving ceremony for the European Information Technology Prize 1997.

The Commission intends to award a contract for the provision of services for the set-up and staging of the prize-giving ceremony of the European Information Technology (IT) Prize 1997 and the subsequent promotional event during the annual European Information Technology Conference (EITC 97), which will take place in the Brussels Congress Centre on 24-26 November 1997. The total duration foreseen for these two events is 1 hour 20 minutes.

EITC 97 is the annual conference of the ESPRIT programme. The European IT Prize is an award for novel products based on information technology. At the awards ceremony on 25 November 1997 the President of the European Commission, Jacques Santer, will hand over the prizes to the three 1997 Grand Prize winners in a ceremony involving the 25 finalists. The promotional event is a multimedia presentation of PROSOMA ESPRIT, which is a new service launched by the Commission to improve the industrial impact of the ESPRIT programme.

The tasks to be carried out include the planning of the ceremony and the promotional event, editing of video clips, set-up, staging and conducting the ceremony and the promotional event, and management and transportation. The proposed contract will be for three months.
