Use of information and communication technologies in the aeronautics and banking sectors

The Commission of the European Communities, DG XIII, invites tenders for a study on the benefits of use of information and communications technologies in the aeronautics and banking sectors. To follow up work done in 1991 to give the Commission a full picture of the use of these technologies by major sectors of activity in Europe, it has been decided to embark on in-depth case studies of specific sectors to identify the potential interaction between the measures taken by the Community and the concerns of the individual sectors. The results of these case studies must lay the foundation for specific measures based on collaboration between the users and the Commission. Special attention will be paid to the use of these technologies in the USA (aeronautics), and in Japan (banking). Applicants may submit tenders for one or both of the sectors selected. The tenders must be full and separate for each sector.
