CEDEFOP - Networks and study contracts for vocational and further training

The European Centre for the Development of Vocational training (CEDEFOP) has published a call for expressions of interest for participation in networks, and the performance of study contracts, in the field of vocational and further training.

CEDEFOP is calling on interested organizations, institutes and individual experts to apply for joint activities which will take the forms of:

- A: Preparation of specific individual studies on behalf of the Centre. These studies may stand alone or may relate to previous study work undertaken by or on behalf of the Centre;

- B: Constructive and continuous cooperation within the framework of the networks. Such networks aim to facilitate the exchange of information and experience between competent authorities in the Member States. The networks will contribute to the Centre, make their activities visible to the public, and form the reference points of national networks.

The main fields of cooperation, within CEDEFOP's medium-term work programme, are as follows:

- Promotion of competence and lifelong learning;
- Observation of the development of vocational training in the Member States;
- Mobility and exchange at European level.

A number of networks are already in existence, covering the following themes:

- Documentary information;
- Trends in vocational development and the development of qualifications;
- Cooperation among educational institutes for teachers and training instructors;
- Promotion of cooperation in research;
- Promotion of clarity regarding qualifications and transnational mobility;
- Observation system for innovation.

Potential CEDEFOP partners must have sound and varied experience and appropriate professional ability in the Centre's fields of activity. Interested organizations must provide evidence of at least five years experience in one of the above fields. Expressions of interest must refer specifically to one or more of the above subject areas or networks.

For full details of the procedure for submitting expressions of interest, please refer to the Notice published in the Official Journal of the European Communities.
