Software and data services relating to digital video review stations

The European Commission's Euratom Safeguards Directorate has published an invitation to tender concerning the provision of software and data exchange specification services related to digital video review stations.

The Commission plans to contract out the following services:

- i) The specification of a standard data exchange method based on the principles of SGML and/or EDI, as well as the development of a prototype application demonstrating the operational aspects of the proposed standard;
- ii) The specification of the software and hardware platform to be used as review station for digital images that should operate in an environment based on the abovementioned data exchange method.

Both specifications must fulfil the requirements of the Euratom Safeguards Directorate with regard to the review of digital images, as specified in the document "Specification of Euratom requirements with respect to the exchange of data, and the review of digital images".

The contract should be completed within five months. The bulk of the services will be carried out on the contractors own premises. However, part of the services, including coordination and installation of the prototype, will be carried out on the Commission's premises in Luxembourg.
