The European Commission is supporting, through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF), a project aimed at promoting the use of new information and communications technologies in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in rural and peripheral regions. The project, ENTERSKILLSNET, is coordinated by AGATE (Agency for the development of the Tarn region - France) and is aimed at improving the ICT capabilities of a European network of SMEs in France, Spain, Ireland, Scotland and Finland. The total budget for the project over the next two years is ECU 3.9 million of which over ECU 1.5 million has been contributed by the ERDF.
