The European Commission, DG XI, has published an invitation to tender for the completion of a comparative study on the environmental performances of co-incineration and specialized incineration. The objective of the study is twofold: - To examine the current situation of co-incineration in the EU in terms of dimension, industrial sectors and categories of waste used as fuel; - To identify and verify a model for comparison of both the incineration and the co-incineration processes. Both processes must ensure an equivalent level of high protection of the environment. The study must be completed within six months from the date of signature of the contract.
