Publication of the volumes V and VI of the "guide to bioclimatic architecture" and creation of the "Learnet" interactive navigator

Objective

Today, bioclimatic architecture is a central element in actions for controlling energy and promoting sustainable development, which are part of the major preoccupations of the European Commission. However, concrete realisation of these concepts in the field must pass through informing and training the greatest number of actors. The purpose of our project is to supply a complete and detailed content on all of the notions pertaining to bioclimatic architecture and to facilitate their dissemination. The Learnet project proposes publication of two volumes in the 'Guides to bioclimatic architecture' collection (respectively treating "natural and artificial lighting of buildings" and "urban planning and development and sustainable development in Europe'), as well as creation of a 'Learnet' interactive navigator. This information technology tool will make all the pedagogical data found in the guides to bioclimatic architecture available to everyone. This navigator put on line on the Internet will be available in three different languages (French, English and Spanish).

Description:

The LEARNET programme can be broken down into three phases:
PHASE 1: Realisation of Volume V and 1st stage of navigator development - design of Volume V: preparation of summary, search for documents, drafting of texts, validation. - realisation of Volume V: design and fabrication of layout and mock-up model, validation of printing choices. - distribution of Volume V: promotion, press releases, diverse presentations. - navigator design and development;
PHASE 2: Realisation of Volume VI and 2nd stage of navigator development - design of Volume VI - realisation of Volume VI - distribution of Volume VI - completion of adaptation for the navigator and creation of the database - filling in the database information and putting the first volumes on line - beginning of promotion period;
PHASE 3: Completion of the interactive navigator - adaptation of Volume VI for the navigator - monitoring of the putting on line operation and promotion centered around the navigator.
DIRECT RESULTS - enlargement of target publics - availability of high quality data - increase in dissemination of the principles of bioclimatic architecture INDIRECT RESULTS:
1. Social and environmental - Increase in number of projects that are concretely begun - Increase in penetration of renewable energies - Improvement of environmental quality - Improvement of comfort and health of inhabitants - Decrease in energy expenditures;
2. Economic - Possibility of long-distance training programmes.
