One of the great aims of the Stellar Astronomy is the knowledge of the processes that occur inside the interior of stars using the theoretical models. The pulsational behaviour of a star depends to a great extent on its interior structure and, therefore, the precise determination of the oscillations frequencies should provide us detailed information about the physical properties that govern their evolution. The asteroseismology, or stellar seismology, compares observed oscillations with the theoretical ones, limiting the number of physical parameters in the stellar models in their different evolutionary stages.
The role of the Open Clusters, as stellar associations with a common origin, is fundamental. The physical properties shared by the members of a cluster: distance, reddening, age and metallicity, will provide very stringent constraints on the models, complementing the information obtained from the oscillation frequencies of the pulsating stars. Exhaustive studies on the incidence of variability and its behaviour, especially on the recently discovered. Doradus stars, will help us to know better some of fundamental parameters (Teff, logg, chemical composition and rotational velocity) of these stars. We will investigate if narrow relationships between the oscillation amplitude and stellar parameters such as the rotation occur, being this property of the most decisive factors in the pulsational behaviour.
To reach the outcome of the project, systematic observations are necessary using CCD and photoelectric photometry on a large sample of clusters with a high number of objects on the lower part of the Instability Strip where pulsating stars like? Doradus, dScuti or solar-type are evolving.
