Objective

Contact with supporting rolls can cause severe quality problems for shape and surface quality. The aims of this research work are to develop a floating continuous annealing system for the treatment of horizontal steel strip and a technology for supporting and deflecting the strip in vertical stands through the use of air cushions ("contactless rolls").
