Objective

Long terms trials under production conditions will be carried out during this research project using an aluminium vacuum deposition plant for coating steel strip which will be modified to permit high-rate deposition of different metals and alloys (including Zn, Ti, Cu, and others). Laboratory testing will be carried out and practical applications studied in conjunction with potential users. The process has the advantage of being environmentally acceptable.
