Objective

This project will increase the knowledge required in order to achieve higher rolling speeds for thinner and wider products, and to study the mechanical generation of heat buckles. The thermal deformation of rolls will be calculated and compared with experimental data. Novel strip guidance systems will be developed to prevent the generation of buckles, on the basis of theoretical studies.
