Objective

The growing demand for two-sided zinc coated steel sheet makes hot-dip material competitive with electrogalvanized steel sheets. To gain full acceptance from the end user as an alternative to electrogalvanized sheet, hot-dip material must have the required corrosion resistance both before and after painting. Thus the aim of this joint project is to explore application limits of the two coatings, obtain more reliable technical data and achieve standardised corrosion test procedures.
