Objective

The aims of this research are to determine the available rotation capacities for composite cross-sections (steel beam in combination with a concrete slab) and for all typical steel shapes, as a function of different steel grades, and to determine the required rotation capacities for different structures, in view of introducing new rules of plastic design for steel and composite cross-sections in Eurocodes 3 and 4. Numerical simulation of the available rotation capacities of cross-sections will be confirmed by several actual tests.
