Objective
The prime aim of the project was to validate the formal solutions identified in MAP 761 in a series of studies and experiments.
This project, estimated at 38 man-years, followed on from project 761.
It involved several experiments :
- a query language was implemented on a number of computers linked via an ISO/OSI network and this language was evaluated with regard to the transactions needed for transnational accounting;
- an experimental ISO/OSI network was installed and a number of communication protocols that control transaction execution were implemented to test their proper functioning.
Special consideration was given to security mechanisms.
