Training local community staff to innovative service organizations

Objective

OBJECTIVES
Various European regions, including Italy, are currently witnessing the privatisation of public utilities such as water, gas, electricity suppliers or those involved in waste management. At the same time, these service companies, both private and public, are having to adapt to the requirements created by the emergence of new technologies. The objective of this project is to raise town councils' awareness of technology transfer and to help them to deal with the potential obstacles which could hinder local development. The partners also wish to familiarise the staff of these companies with management techniques.

ACTIVITIES
Once various training modules focusing on management in service companies have been analysed and training requirements defined, a transnational training programme designed for community developers will be produced and tested. This programme will focus more particularly on various types of services such as quality, financial evaluation, technical and economic management etc.

PRODUCTS
- A continuing training module for qualified staff in the services sector, dealing with organisational and management methods.
- Manuals, translated into the languages of the partner regions.
