Objective
OBJECTIVES
Given the important technological changes facing mechanics in the motor industry and the limited initial training which they generally have behind them, it is necessary to develop a multimedia training tool which can be used in the workplace and which is designed to initiate motor vehicle mechanics in new technologies. This multimedia tool will take the form of educational software programmes which can be transferred to CD-ROM. This can also be used as initial training and will thus offer young people who have benefited from this training a significant advantage.
ACTIVITIES
Firstly, the partners wish to analyse the training needs which are emerging in this sector in the different partner countries of the project. By pooling the results, they will attempt to develop a methodology which can respond to these needs and produce training modules in the form of software which can be placed on a CD-ROM and used in the workplace. In this way, motor mechanics will acquire skills in new technologies both as a communications tool and as a working tool. These modules will be evaluated on a target group and, once the tools have been refined, they will be disseminated and transferred to numerous European companies in the motor sector.
