Objective
OBJECTIVES
The trade union representatives have seen their scope of action widen rapidly since the opening of the single European market, and the ability to work in a transnational framework has become a skill which they need. To help workers' representatives who have a role in the European Employment Councils, this project intends to help improve their language skills. To do this, the partners will develop language training modules specific to this sector and set up training tools for distance self-training and work and negotiation role play.
ACTIVITIES
Three trade union confederations from three countries in the partnership will help the partnership as a whole to analyse specific language training needs peculiar to trade union representatives. Role play on work and negotiations and specific vocabulary will be dissected and, based on the results of these various analyses, training material will be developed with the help of the languages department of a university. A CD-ROM will then be designed, tried and tested in the trade union confederations, assessed and readjusted if necessary.
