Objective
OBJECTIVES
The objective of this project is to link National Vocational Qualifications competencies (NVQ) to the current European development and growth of practice firms in order to present a flexible and effective method of training for use on a transnational level. This is a pilot project which will determine as to what extent a core European curriculum for practice firms is appropriate and possible.
ACTIVITIES
The first task will be to define, with transnational partners, the work required to develop such a curriculum. Then, a working group of trainers with a mixture of NVQ and practice firm experience will draft an NVQ curriculum which can be used by any practice firm in Europe. This part of the project will include a training programme for trainers in another EU country. A network of NVQ practice firms and interested parties who will benefit from the development of this project will be created. The aim of the network is to promote this form of activity throughout Europe.
PRODUCTS
The project will produce a practice firm handbook with activities directly related to NVQ units of competence. It will also result in a database of organisations who run NVQ practice firms in order to increase co-operation and the dissemination of experience and finally a training programme for trainers will be piloted with the aim of creating a transnational course.
