Objective

This project comprises practically related and transnational analysis, description and implementation of needs profiles with regard to preparation for industrial and technological change in the information society, especially on the changing labour market in the informatics/telematics sector. National and transnational studies concerning the qualification requirements of informatics and telematics specialists are to be evaluated with the objective of developing implementation possibilities for initial vocational training and continuing training, particularly in SMEs.

The implementation concept comprises, in particular, the testing of alternating forms of qualification and the development of a procedure for pan-European recognition of the qualification acquired. The results will be published in the form of guidelines, manuals, tutorials (diskette, CD-Rom, world wide web) and a newsletter on the Internet.

Impact
The project makes an important contribution to the imminent transition to the information society at global level. Innovative forms of further training in the informatics sector are to be provided on the basis of a well-designed analysis of qualifications. The composition of the partnership points to a successful outcome of the project.
