Flexible cell for the instruction of automated processes

Objective

A flexible cell is the whole set of components and devices of different technologies (i.e. electricity, electronics, pneumatics, oleohydraulics, etc.) that are linked together by a flexible device and which are part of an automated industrial system or process. This pilot project will identify the knowledge that professionals working in automated processes must acquire.

The partners will design a flexible cell that will facilitate the acquisition of knowledge about the range of technologies needed for the training of maintenance staff dealing with electricity, electronics, pneumatics and oleohydraulics problems; automated equipment programmers concerned with information and communication technologies; and staff concerned with the organisation of work groups making a given product. The work will be conducted in four phases:
- gathering of information/documentation;
- processing of information and design of a model;
- development of a training package and development of the content of manuals;
- production of final reports.

Impact
The flexible cell will have an impact on training at all levels, from qualified workers to engineers working in flexible automated production processes.
