Computer-based training

Objective

The aim of the project is to open up flexible access to training programmes in the field of microelectronics via modern information-society technologies within the context of lifelong learning. Two types of course modules are to be developed for this purpose:
- Electronic VHDL/HDL scripts as stand alone self-learning materials for use at PC workstations usually found in SMEs;
- VHDL distance-learning courses via the Internet/world wide web.

The project also includes the development of methodology and appropriate software tools for producing electronic scripts and world wide web-based CBT/ODL distance-learning courses. Both the special VHDL course and the methods and software tools to be developed are particularly geared to the needs of SMEs. The extensive experience of the partners involved in the field of technology transfer to SMEs will lead to the successful preparation and execution of the project for the benefit of these companies.

Impact
The project promotes the dissemination and application of self-learning products in the vocational training process as well as assisting open distance-teaching and self-study within the context of a future learning society.
