Transnational curricular development and delivery

Objective

There is a demand to reduce training costs for the training of process operators and for closer training links across the EU. Partners from Finland, Norway, Holland, Spain, Italy and Scotland are working in the field of industrial processing to produce open learning packs and multimedia CD-Roms of these packs, with a view to of reducing costs so that trainees may study on a flexible basis and by accessing transnational partners using the Internet.

Each partner will develop an open learning pack and a CD-Rom compatible with the pack. The packs will cover the following: process science; instrumentation and control; programmable logic controllers; process safety; and computer aided design. Co-operation and exchange of data will be achieved using the Internet.

Impact
Because the project encompasses national awarding institutions, the material produced will receive transnational accreditation.
