Objective
EU directive 91/391 concerns European SMEs insofar as it requires them to reorganise their safety and accident prevention systems. By developing continuing vocational training and distance learning, this project aims to help SMEs reach minimum standard safety levels.
The following activities are foreseen:
- a transnational needs analysis for up-dating SME managers concerned with safety prevention matters;
- a transnational seminar for the exchange of safety training know-how;
- the design and production of multimedia training tools;
- the opening of a world wide web site;
- pilot distance learning activities for SME managers and workers.
Impact
This project will have repercussions on European training practices insofar as its results will be widely applicable. The homogeneous nature of the training material will facilitate use in different countries. It will also help develop the social dialogue in SMEs in the member states involved.
