Objective
Studies have shown that craftswomen lack commercial training, especially with regard to pricing policy, European packaging and labelling laws, and market research on the preferences and tastes of consumers. There is a need for training material which craftswomen can use at home.
The partners will jointly produce a training document based on the following four areas: pricing policy with information about the way to fix the price of a product; labelling laws, with information about all the details that must appear on a label; packaging laws, with information about the added value an attractive package can give to a product; and product design, with market research information with regard to trends in the tastes of consumers. Each chapter will have a questionnaire to enable craftswomen to evaluate the quality of their own products. The training material will be produced in Spanish and then translated into Italian and Swedish.
Impact
The project will give craftswomen access to training, new skills and qualifications. This will ultimately have an impact on their volume of sales and enable many to set up their own businesses.
