Objective
To define the different trades in the occupational sector of buildings and public works, it is essential to take into account technological progress, economic changes, limits imposed by the markets or by the social and economic context and any evolutions in careers. This pilot project aims to create a training plan for the building and public works sector and to manage the evolution of trades and careers.
PLAFORSOL will take place over a three-year period, in five different phases. During the first phase, the existing skills of vocational groups will be evaluated. This will cover careers such as general foremen, loader, heavy plant drivers, welders, bricklayers or human resource managers. Specific tools will be designed and training needs will be analysed in relation to the internal skills requirements of enterprises and to the theoretical definitions of skills that correspond to these different trades.
The second phase will be to define tailor-made training solutions to breach the gap between evaluated skills, theoretical skills and the skills required by companies. The third phase will consist of continuing the evaluation through a scheme that will constantly be updated to keep up with economic change. The fourth phase will develop individual vocational training files. During the fifth and final phase, the final results will be distributed to the entire building and public works sector of the three partner countries.
Impact
This pilot project will implement a sustainable continuing training and evaluation scheme for the building and public works sector.
