Objective
The aim of this pilot project is to design, develop and disseminate innovative distance learning approaches in order to promote access to continuing vocational training in the European audiovisual sector, particularly in SMEs. The specific purpose is to pilot new methods for setting up and running distance learning courses and to increase their effectiveness by encouraging innovative user-friendly techniques.
After a preliminary analysis of training needs and existing training practices in audiovisual SMEs, the partners will produce a practical manual on innovative continuing vocational training and distance learning methods used in the sector. A computer-based multimedia distance learning programme will then be developed and piloted using the internet. Subjects dealt with will include audiovisual law, management and work organisation. A glossary of audiovisual management terms will also be produced, in English, Italian and French. This, and the courseware, will be made available on-line via the internet. A publicity campaign will be organised to publicise the results of the project to audiovisual sector professionals and an on-line newsletter will be periodically up-dated as the project progresses.
Impact
The training developed by this pilot project will facilitate access to training in audiovisual SMEs and ultimately lead to improvements in productivity and profitability.
