Objective
SMEs in the Canary Islands need effective support in their bid to increase productivity, reduce costs and expand their businesses. High-quality telematic services can help overcome existing communication problems between the knowledge industry and SMEs. The main objective of this project is to help SMEs access such support through telematic applications and services.
The partners will design and develop a training programme in telematic applications and business management, and set up a general counselling service for SMEs. The training programme will comprise 16 hours of training in the use of telematics, its applications and its impact on the activity of the company, and 10 hours of 'business games' which will give students practical experience with telematic tools for making contacts, conducting business, exchanging information and communicating. The counselling service will offer a range of inter-sectoral courses in accounting and finance, purchasing, production and sales, quality, marketing and sectoral issues. A CD-ROM on the above will be designed, developed and distributed to SMEs, as a single, standard training tool in various languages.
Impact
This project will provide small businesses with the essential information they need for a satisfactory introduction to telematics.
