Objective
The general objective of the project is to strengthen engineering education in the non-university sector (NUS), in order to improve professional opportunities for engineeringgraduates, increase their international mobility, and help them cope with technological change.
The aim of the project is to: work out pathways of engineering education in the non-university sector; establish and analyse qualification requirements; improve co-operation between commercial undertakings and educational institutions;describe the qualification profiles of engineering education; assess the labour market situation and the prospects of graduates in the non-university sector; andmake initial education more appealing by creating attractive opportunities for continuing education at the post-secondary level.
The benefit of the project for the participating countries concerned lies in the acquisition of new knowledge and findings for curriculum development in engineering education. Depending on national circumstances, this may relate to upper secondary and/or post--secondary education.
Impact
The project will help provide the basis for curriculum development in engineering education. Practical training and continuing education at the secondary and post-secondary levels will be strengthened. In addition, successful and innovative qualification profiles and models of co-operation between industry and educational institutions will be disseminated.
