Objective
One of the many European initiatives established to help combat unemployment is new business creation. With the increasing tendency for businesses to subcontract activities, new opportunities for job seekers are emerging in this field. This project aims to help job seekers/would-be entrepreneurs respond to the market demands through the development of support courses designed to promote the conditions for successful entrepreneurship.
During the initial phases of the project, partners will jointly design and test tools for identifying the needs of would-be entrepreneurs and develop programmes for training employment counsellors in the selection of candidates for a specific business creation course. This course will include modules in creativity training, during which participants will select the business area they wish to work in, communication and stress management skills, the development of business plans to be assessed by specially trained business counsellors, visits to SMEs and contacts with employers/entrepreneurs. Other modules will focus on existing support programmes for entrepreneurs : financial assistance, counselling facilities and training opportunities, for example.
Impact
The project will enable the development of transferable methodology in training for SME creation in European member states and stimulate SME creation in growth areas.
