Objective
Professionals in the refrigeration and air conditioning sectors need training in new refrigeration and substitution techniques. Companies in this sector need to deal with issues arising from the introduction of new technical and environmental legislation. Relevant advice to technical personnel and entrepreneurs is essential.
The Envirozone pilot project has already developed a set of products which pool the experience of the five participating countries. It has also created a database - DB-ENVIR - that stores information on existing publications, legislation, projects, and courses in the manipulation and treatment of refrigeration gases. This information has also been brought together in the form of training material on 'Environmental procedures handbook in refrigeration'.
This project will take Envirozone further by developing two more modules, and translating the handbook into French and Italian (it is currently only available in English and Spanish). New documentation will be loaded onto the DB-ENVIR database. Also, all products will be disseminated through : publication of an information booklet; creation of a web page; publication of articles about the project in specialised sectoral magazines; and the organisation of seminars with businesses and their associations.
Impact
The project will work towards the harmonisation of training in the handling of refrigeration gases, and will lead to improvements in the professional skills of workers in refrigeration and air conditioning SMEs.
