Training and telephone counselling for integration in the labour market

Objective

TELEINSERTION is aimed at giving young people entering the labour market, as well as those with a perceived disadvantage with regard to employment (workers in restructuring industries, the long-term unemployed), access to training, information and relevant advice to help them re-enter the labour market.

The project comprises three work packages. The first concerns the training of advisers and local development officials in vocational guidance matters. They will be trained to give advice on how to set up a business, how to establish individualised recommendations for training and employment, and how to motivate and encourage the unemployed and young people. The second work package will be on the development of telephone counselling - notably with regard to the provision of labour market information, business opportunities, and employment vacancies. The last work package will focus on the training of job seekers, including training techniques on how to look for a job and set up a business.

The above will be achieved primarily through the internet. Guidance seminars will also be organised on new employment opportunities such as internet commerce and teleworking.

During the experimentation phase, five local development agents per region will be trained. In turn, they will pilot telephone counselling with ten job seekers in their areas. A total of 200 young and unemployed people will therefore be trained in how to set up a business and look for a job.

Impact
The project will ease the burden of job counselling bodies and facilitate the training of young and unemployed job seekers.
