Women's access to training and re-integration in the labour market through innovation and skills acquisition

Objective

Rapid technological and industrial change necessitates the need for a continuous effort to adapt vocational qualifications, but many of the skills acquired by workers at the beginning of their career become obsolete. Subsequently, there is a great need for relevant continuing training. Training based on core skills can help enterprises and workers adapt to change and promote greater internal flexibility. The skill and training needs of women, especially those who are poorly qualified or who are returning to work after a period of unemployment, are particularly important. This project will deal with this issue by developing solutions that foster equality of opportunity with regard to access to continuing training for women threatened with social exclusion.

The project activities are as follows :

-analysis of the key skills required in a range of contexts (SMEs, public administration, large enterprises, etc.);
-definition of training contents, paying particular attention to the training needs of women threatened with social exclusion;
-design of training modules to be integrated into training programmes;
- production of training supports, including open and distance learning material;
- monitoring and evaluation of the project.

Impact
This project will promote investment in continuing training in SMEs and prevent the social exclusion of poorly-qualified people, especially women.
