Objective
Today, the agriculture sector faces all kinds of environmental problems. Farmers need to be familiar with environmental topics and determine to what extent their activity has a negative impact on the environment. The aim of the project is to encourage sustainable development in the countryside by making farmers more aware of the effects of their production methods on nature and natural resources, and to help them reduce the negative effects of their activities.
The project will produce a relevant international module for use in vocational training centres in Europe. In the first year of the project, the partners will exchange available information on the subject; study and compare laws and regulations in the different countries; and produce a first framework for the module. The second year will be used to develop the content of the framework, focusing on topics such as manure, minerals, energy, crop protection, nature, water quality & water use, the law and regulations. During the third year, the draft module will be tested in various different agricultural colleges. The module will be produced as a high quality textbook. The partners will also make efforts to develop a relevant 'Euroqualification' for the module.
Impact
The partners will aim to achieve recognition for of the 'Euroqualification', so that it will in future be possible to certify farms which meet environmental care-system requirements.
