Objective
In Europe there is a need to encourage initiatives for the development of language training to promote employee/worker mobility and to meet industries' needs for personnel capable of operating in an increasingly cross-cultural, transnational market.
This project aims to develop a resource centre for foreign language training, with a view to supporting trainees in the development and certification of language skills in four EU languages - Portuguese, English, French and Danish. Following the analysis of the methodology and practices in the target countries, partners will jointly develop, using a best practice approach, a common curricula for foreign language training.
A multinational working group will draw up language competence curricula, and develop training modules and CD-ROM based teaching materials for use in flexible, semi-autonomous learning situations. The resource centre will give students/trainees the opportunity to learn foreign languages through methods and materials using competence-based methodology. This project will also provide for the system to be validated by the RSA, as a step towards the implementation of recognised, transnational foreign language training courses.
Impact
The project is expected to lead to the development of fully recognised transnational foreign language training courses, and will promote mobility between EU Member States.
