Objective
In the field of health care the change in emphasis from institutional care to home care has resulted in the need to ensure that health care professionals are trained in appropriate skills. This project aims to examine current practice in EU partner countries to determine how training methods and content should be modified to best meet the new demands and to develop relevant programme modules and learning tools.
Following a comparative analysis of the training systems in the EU partner countries, the partners will propose areas for programme development, define skills requirements and design programme modules. Teaching methods will be developed and tested in such areas as drama pedagogy, problem-oriented training, personality development and student oriented learning. Staff and student study tours will be organised to gain experience of the practical impact of particular methods. Teaching materials will include programme modules, video cassettes and electonic-based documents. During the final phase, strategies, methods and tools will be analysed and evaluated. Information on project progress and results will be made available through conferences, workshops, briefings, specialised publications and the internet.
Impact
The project will lead to improved vocational training, enhance health care provision and prepare qualified job seekers for the challenges of the European labour market.
