Objective
The overall objectives of the CAVA project are to coordinate European Union (EU) RTD projects in the area of validation with those financed by public or private organisations, support common interest groups in order to bring interested parties together around a theme, establish the feasibility of future RTD activities in the area of validation and define their content, particularly demonstration projects and to provide recommended requirements for the validation exercises to be conducted within the Fifth Framework Programme.
These overall objectives will be achieved by providing DG VII with administrative support for:
- The organisation and management of five workshops on validation-related issues to be held in Brussels. Each of these workshops is planned to be attended by about 40 experts, including all of the principal actors involved in ATM: service providers, aviation authorities, research centres, industry, airline operators).
- The Preparation and large-scale dissemination of working papers and technical reports based on the work done in the CAVA Project.
- The Preparation of other documents and presentations which may be needed by DG VII in related validation activities.
- Technical support, of a group of experts from research centres, industry and engineering firms who have directly participated in completed or ongoing projects sponsored by the European Commission (EC) and EUROCONTROL, who are highly experienced in ATM and system validation.
