DEVELOPMENT OF A LOUSE VACCINE FOR SALMON CULTURE

Objective



The aim of the project is to demonstrate that Atlantic salmon can be protected by immunisation against sea lice by :

a) Synthesis of target antigens using recombinent techniques
b) Experimental immunisation and challenge for efficacy.

The objective is to prepare and test for efficacy at least 40 experimental vaccine preparations per year designed to protect Atlantic salmon from infestation by skin lice both Lepeophtheirus salmonis (Lep) and Caligus spp. (Cal).
