Objetivo This large project is concerned with the development of new tools to assist in breeding varieties of potato with durable resistance to late blight (Phytophthora infestans). The tools to be investigated include RFLP and RAPD markers, including some which have preliminary utility for QTLs. No transgenics of the host plant are intended but transformation of the pathogen would be involved.
