Fireproofing treatments for wood compatible with antixylophagus treatments, adhesives and indoor and outdoor finishing products

Objective

The main purpose of the present project is the obtaining of a combined system of treatments for wood, effective for the area they have been designed for as well as compatible with each other.
Specific fireproofing treatments have been developed for solid wood, plywood, laminated wood, etc, able to improve as much as possible their fire reaction classification, turning them into inflammable materials. Moreover, the effect of developed fireproofing treatment were contrasted with different treatments and/or applied processes on wood, for example gluing to obtain laminated wood, protection against fungus and indoor and outdoor finishing treatments. Finally, effectiveness of fireproofing treatments against time, by means of accelerated aging tests under variable conditions.
That way the aim is to obtain an effective and lasting fireproof treatment in such a way that it is compatible with antixylophagous treatments, adhesives and finishing products (varnish and paint) used with this material at present.
