Objective
To reduce the cost of the MWH generated in the Power Stations throughout the Southern Region.
Hartmann & Braun now Reckon they are many years ahead with this new technology. However, they fear a manufacturing capacity shortage could occur in the supply of Transputers and they must excercise caution at the moment.
Excellent! It is used in the passive role at the moment. The equipment is robust and reliable. The programme is completed and file in store.
The energy consumed, the power generated and the power consumed by the station auxiliaries are measured. The thermal efficiency of the operation is calculated and the unit cost computed and displayed in the control room.
Phase I - Design:-
This phase is complete.
Phase II - Equipment Purchase:-
This phase commenced in July 1988 and is now completed.
Phase III - System Assembly:-
This phase is complete.
Phase IV - Installation and Commissioning:-
This phase delayed 5 months due to the late equipment delivery.
Some problems with oil flow measuring devices were highlighted. These problems are now clearly identified and resolved.
