Our obligation in the project was to establish and maintain a local ICAMS statio equipped with the EASY Geographical Information System, a GIS package exploiting a data bank containing all the remote-sensing, institute, historical and ancillary information related to the local trial site. In this context, we trained NCMR personnel on the EASY software, collected and incorporated in the data base ancillary and historical data, and kept the system operational by daily incorporating any satellite or in-situ information available throughout the experiment.
Based on the satellite images and the EASy inherent-now algorithms, we estimated primary production rates for the test-site, produced maps of all parameters of interest, and proceeded to qualitative assessment of the, performance of satellite information and by-products in relation to the field measurements.
