ECOTOXICOLOGICAL MODELS IN FRESHWATER ENVIRONMENT: BIOACCUMULATION STUDIES

Objective

TO STUDY THE DYNAMICS OF BIOACCUMULATION AND TRANSFERS OF MERCURY IN THE FOOD CHAIN OF AQUATIC ORGANISMS.

AS AN EXTENSION PREVIOUS WORK (211-77-1-ENV-F) ABOUT THE DYNAMICS OF BIOACCUMULATION AND TRANSFER OF METHYLMERCURY IN AN EXPERIMENTAL TROPHIC CHAIN COMPOSED BY CHLORELLA VULGARIS, DAPHIS MAGNA, GAMBIA AFFINIS AND SALMO GAIRDERI, COMPARATIVE STUDIES ON THE "SECOND ORDER CONSUMER" STEP WHILE DEVELOPING AN INTER-SPECIFIC ANALYSIS AT THIS LEVEL AT DIFFERENT TEMPERATURES WILL BE ELABORATED:

1. DIRECT CONTAMINATION EXPERIMENTS BY CH3HGC1 AND HGC12 WILL BE CONDUCTED IN PARALLEL FOR DURATIONS OF 5, 10, 20 AND 30 DAYS EMPAHZISING A DYNAMIC POINT OF VIEW AT A CONCENTRATION OF 1PPB.

2. PARALLEL TO THE STUDIES OF DIRECT CONTAMINATION, THE ANALYSIS OF THE TROPHIC CONTRIBUTION WITHIN A GLOBAL CONTAMINATION WILL BE MADE WITH THE SAME AIMS AS ABOVE (TYPOLOGY OF THE MAIN ORGANS). THE FOOD CONTRIBUTION OF THE MERCURY WILL BE MADE THROUGH THE MEDIUM OF PREYS PREVIOUSLY CONTAMINATED BY THE TWO DERIVATES OF MERCURY.
