Objective
Industrial wastewater discharge to sewers and watercourses is controlled through the application of Administrative regulations and exploitation authorisations given by the Authorities. Whatever the regulation is, it could only be efficient if the measurement techniques give real time representative figures. It is very important to be able to obtain a continuous measurement of both qualitative and quantitative parameters. The aim of this project is to develop a new measurement technique that will allow to wastewater treatment companies to have a real time monitoring of their process. The developed system will use the Ultrasonic technology and will be cheaper (less than 13000 Euros) than existing technologies (13000 Euros minimum for a Dopler apparatus and 25000 Euros minimum for a Transit-Time system) and more efficient because it will able to perform the two types of measurements in real time.
