EUROTECHNICIANS

Objective

EUROCOPTER (a French\German consortium) must enhance the qualifications of its staff to remain competitive. The training project for senior technicians is part of this rationale. It involves training of young technicians who already have a diploma and who work for the company or for its sub-contractors. The project consists in setting up a qualifying scheme that is based on a sandwich approach in the three areas considered as strategic by the company (composite materials, productique, electronic "embarquee"). It aims at setting up a production environment centered on the application.

MAIN DOMAIN OF INNOVATION:

Methodologies for the planning and management of training in the framework of human resource development.

TARGET GROUP(S):

People at work. Young people under qualification contracts.Different engineering schools and sub-contractors are involved in the project.

OPERATING CONTEXT:

Competitiveness. Productivity improvement. Raising qualifications. Today, the desired production environment does not exist because engineers have managerial functions and young technicians are not qualified enough.

TECHNOLOGY:Industrial and materials technologies.

INVOLVEMENT WITH ENTERPRISES:

Partnership between large enterprises and SMEs. Training institute-enterprise cooperation.

INVOLVEMENT OF SOCIAL PARTNERS:

Joint social partnership steering/advisory groups. Tripartite structures.

RESULTS:

Transferable models and concepts. Training programmes/courses for advanced technologies. Innovative training materials.
