Further development of a two dimensional shallow layer model for dense gas dispersion in obstructed irregular terrain including two phase jets

Cel

A TWO DIMENSIONAL SHALLOW LAER MODEL (DISPLAY-2) HAS BEEN DEVELOPED TO BE APPLIED FOR THE PREDICTION OF DENSE GAS DISPERSION IN OBSTRUCTED IRREGULAR TERRAIN.
THE MODEL HAS BEEN VALIDATED SUCCESSFULLY AGAINST THE THORNEY ISLAND 8 AND 21 FELD EXPERIMENTS INVOLVING INSTANTANEOUS DENSE GAS RELEASES AT AMBIENT TEMPERATURE ON FLAT TERRAIN WITH (21) AND WITHTHOUT (8) OBSTACLE. IT IS PROPOSED TO EXTEND THE MODEL TO INCLUDE TWO PHASE FLOW JETS. MODEL VALIDATIONS WILL BE PERFORMED AGAINST THE DESERT TORTOISE AMMONIA EXPERIMENT, THE EEC FLADIS T016 AMMONIA EXPERIMENT AND THE EEC-55 PROPANE EXPERIMENT, INVOLVING TWO PHASE JETS WITH AND WITHOUT OBSTACLES. THE MODEL WILL BE VALIDATED IN NON FLAT TERRAIN AGAINST THE EEC HAMBURG WIND TUNNEL EXPERIMENTS INVOLVING CONTINUOUS AND INSTANTANEOUS RELEASES WITH OBSTACLES STREET CANYONS AND SLOPES.
