Objectif
ESOPE focuses on precarious employment, currently a major facet of social risk and insecurity. The problem addressed is both scientific and policy-related: gaining understanding and knowledge and improving social risk management.
The aim is to provide a comparative framework of understanding, new empirical evidence in five sectors across five European countries, and to evaluate local good practice for the improvement of employment quality. Research results are to be widely disseminated and will inform policy for the improved management of labour market related risks in Europe. These objectives are achieved through comparative policy analysis, survey reviews, a strong case study strand, a scientific seminar and a publication on the issue of risk, and a policy report. The consortium gathers prominent institutions and social scientists in the field of labour market studies, very experienced in comparative research and European programmes.
