INTERMODAL DECISION. THE DECISION-MAKING PROCESS IN INTERMODAL TRANSPORT

Objetivo

The main objective of the LOGIQ project is to identify actors in the decision-making process and to provide information on underlined criteria and constraints employed by them for using intermodal transport.
The three variables identified as fundamental in affecting decision taken by actors are

a) the infrastructure networks;
b) the quality factors influencing the transport chains and actors behaviours;
c) the institutional environment of transport and relevant legal issues.

The project will contribute to define the legal, organisational and operational transport requirements arising to the development of concepts related to access to information and day to day business practices.

The two first reports aim at identifying the variables determining the decision-making process and at analysing the decision making process on an empirical basis. The third part will use as an input the results of the two first reports to construct a Decision Process Model (DPM) for possible computer applications, relating market segments and interrelationships among actors involved. The fourth and fifth reports will study the sector of chemical products and the Rhine traffic corridor.

The results of the project will be disseminated through an Internet site, a simulation game and a handbook.
%

The case studies concern one "sectoral" and one "territorial" market segment:
- chemical products
- the Rhine traffic corridor

The project is fully complementary with IQ (Intermodal Quality), IMPULSE (Interoperable Modular Pilot plant Underlying the Logistic Systems in Europe) and FREIA (Towards the Networking of European Freight Villages).

Ámbito científico

CORDIS clasifica los proyectos con EuroSciVoc, una taxonomía plurilingüe de ámbitos científicos, mediante un proceso semiautomático basado en técnicas de procesamiento del lenguaje natural.
